What was the core challenge this case study addressed?
A CRO managing a sponsor’s chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) trial in Europe was asked to take over the US side due to very slow enrollment. The CRO enlisted Citeline to help identify eligible sites and patients.
How did Citeline approach patient identification?
Citeline used two main tactics: first, a heatmap showing the geographic distribution of potentially eligible patients across the US to help narrow the site search; second, an algorithm built on its PatientMatch solution that searched for protocol-matched patients and sent targeted alerts to principal investigators and treating physicians.
What improvements did Citeline make to PatientMatch as a result of this campaign?
The algorithm (including patient year of birth, gender, race, visit date) that runs against I/E criterias was refined to pull information most relevant to the physician visit, with EHR data now taking precedence over claims data for greater accuracy.
